Af grunnsýningu 1996-2005:The manure grinder The manure of domestic animals was used in the springtime as a fertilizer for the fields. In was invented in 1880 in Skagafjörðu (northern Iceland). One of the first manure grinders in the east was made in 1890 at the farm Torfastaðir in Jökulsárhlíð. The manure grinder made the work far more easier than before. Usually two persons worked the manure grinder, on turned the handle and the other one put the manure in the grinder.
